Parallel Reader is a local-first reading tool. EPUB contents, paragraph anchors, sentence pairs, and notes are processed and stored in your browser’s IndexedDB. We do not receive, inspect, or upload them.

What leaves your device

The app does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, third-party fonts, or runtime content delivery networks. If you buy or verify Reader’s desk, your browser contacts the Sociobot billing API with the license token. Hosted checkout is operated by Sociobot/Dodo as merchant of record and is governed by its checkout privacy notice.

Storage and deletion

Your reading workspace remains on the device and browser profile where you created it. Use “Clear this desk” to delete it, or clear this site’s browser data. Exported TSV and JSON files are controlled by you. Uninstalling the PWA does not always clear browser storage.

Network and offline use

The service worker caches the application shell for offline use. EPUB and audio files are not transmitted. Audio is used only for the current session and is not retained by Parallel Reader.

Your choices

You can export a JSON backup and TSV clippings at any time, including on the free tier. For privacy questions, contact privacy@sociobot.in.
